General Manager, Grants and Funding


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage a revenue base of $1million – $2million
  • Provide monthly financial package to partners for meetings including:
    • Year-to-date financials
    • Actual vs. budget comparison
  • Develop business plans and review operating results and performance
  • Provide insight on the strategic direction for the company
  • Support the development of strategic alliances with accounting firms and other organizations in support of the business plan
  • Communications with government funding representatives to ensure grant applications are written accurately and have a high probability of success
  • Oversee sales performance Working with Regional Directors for business development of regional areas
  • Development and training of Subcontracted Sales and Lead Generators Responsible for project management of all grant projects
  • Responsible for all deadlines and ensuring all projects are completed in a timely fashion
  • Responsible for scheduling of all grant resources
  • Development of appropriate job costing tools
  • Recruitment and development of grant resource
  • Ongoing training and management of employees delivering grant services
  • Development of the appropriate risk management tools/ review processes
  • Sign legal documents on behalf of the company
  • Deliver work at a level agreeable to all BIG partners
  • Develop standard operating procedures that new hires can follow for best practices
  • Initially, be the key technical writer for all client applications

Minimum Qualifications and Attributes
  • Office and business management experience
  • Knowledge of government funding applications
  • Contact within government funding agencies
  • Preferably completed post graduate work

Compensation
Negotiable. Incentive based compensation is also under discussion.
Territory
BIG has offices across Canada, but the candidate can choose to work from either our Guelph or Mississauga office locations as their primary office.
